How we protect your money, your data and your safety - at our branches, on the TML Remit app, and in every transaction.
Last updated: 12 July 2026
This page explains the safety and security measures TML Remittance Center Sdn Bhd ("TML", "we", "us" or "our") has in place to protect our customers, our staff and every transaction handled across our 90+ branches and the TML Remit mobile app. As a Money Services Business licensed and regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia (MSB Licence No. 00455), security and compliance are built into how we operate every day.
Whether you send money at a branch counter or through the TML Remit app, we are committed to making sure your funds, your personal information and your physical safety are protected at every step - from the moment you walk into a branch or open the app, to the moment your transfer is completed.
Our branches follow standard physical security practices appropriate to a licensed money services outlet, including:
Every transaction - whether at a branch or through the app - is processed through a secure, regulator-compliant network, and is subject to our Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering / Counter-Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) procedures. This includes identity verification, transaction screening and record-keeping in line with Bank Negara Malaysia requirements, helping to protect both our customers and the integrity of the remittance system from misuse.
The TML Remit app is built with industry-standard security controls, including 256-bit encryption of data in transit, biometric login (fingerprint / Face ID) support, and in-app KYC verification. Customer data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
We actively monitor for suspicious activity and impersonation attempts involving TML's name, branches, logo or MSB licence number. TML staff will never ask you for your full password, PIN, one-time password (OTP) or card CVV, and will never ask you to transfer money into a personal account to "release", "verify" or "process" a transaction. Please see our Fraud & Impersonation Warning for full details, and only deal with TML through our official website, licensed branches, and the official TML Remit app.
Branch staff and agents receive training on KYC/AML procedures, customer verification, cash-handling and how to recognise and escalate suspicious activity, so that every transaction is handled consistently and safely across our network.
Our branches are operated with the general health and safety of customers and staff in mind, including clear evacuation routes and emergency contact procedures in the event of an incident at a branch premises. If you notice a safety hazard at any TML branch, please let branch staff know or report it to us directly (see section 8).
If you notice a security weakness, suspect fraud, or have a safety concern about a TML branch, our app, or a member of staff, please stop, do not make any payment, and let us know immediately through our Contact page or by emailing info@i-tml.com. Concerns about misconduct rather than physical/technical security can also be raised confidentially under our Whistleblowing Policy. In Malaysia, suspected scams can also be reported to the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) at 997.
We review our safety and security measures periodically to keep pace with evolving risks and regulatory expectations. The latest version of this page will always be published here with its effective date.
